Parameters and requirements of the flat escalator moving walkway
Rated speed (V): the running speed of the stairs under no load (m/s). It is generally 0.5m/s, 0.65m/s and 0.75m/s.
Inclination angle (α): the maximum angle with the horizontal surface when the ladder is running, usually 30° or 35°, 30° is generally used.
Lift height (H): the vertical height difference between the upper base point and the lower base point of the escalator (m).
Stair width (nominal width of stair mm) (B): domestic escalator generally adopts 0.6m, 0.8m, 1.0m, corresponding to the average load of 1 person, 1.5 persons and 2 persons per stair.
Stair level section (L): the distance (mm) of horizontal running at escalator inlet.
When v=0.50m/s, L≥800mm.
When v≤0.65m/s, L≥1200mm;
When v≤0.75m/s, L≥1600mm.
Flat escalator moving walkway conveying capacity calculation
Theoretical conveying capacity. Refers to the theoretical number of people per hour. Theoretical conveying capacity (c, people / h) is calculated as c = 3600vk/0.4.
In which, v is the rated speed (m/s); k is the width factor (1.0 when the width of the stairs is 0.6m; 1.5 when 0.8m; 2.0 when 1.0m).
For example: width 600mm, speed 0.5m/s, hourly conveying capacity: C = 3600X1.0X0.5/0.4=4500people/h
Rated speed is the speed of design and actual operation. The rated speed should not exceed 0.75m/s when the inclination angle of escalator is not greater than 30°, and the rated speed should not exceed 0.50m/s when the inclination angle is greater than 30° and not greater than 35°.
When the lifting height does not exceed 6m and the rated speed does not exceed 0.50m/s, the inclination angle is allowed to increase to 35°.
The inclination angle of flat escalator moving walkway should not exceed 12°.
flat escalator moving walkway: rated speed should not exceed 0.75m/s. When the width of the pedal does not exceed 1.1m, the rated speed is allowed to reach 0.9m/s at most.
Set flat escalator moving walkway regulations
Escalators and moving walkways shall comply with the following provisions.
Escalators and moving walkways shall not be counted as safety exits.
The width of the entrance/exit open area should not be less than 2.50m, and the width should be increased when there is an intensive flow of people through the open area.
The railing should be flat, smooth and without protrusions; the vertical height of the top surface of the handrail from the front edge of the escalator, the tread surface of the moving walkway or the tape surface should not be less than 0.90m.
The outer edge of the handrail to any obstacle should not be less than 0.50m, otherwise measures should be taken to prevent injuries caused by obstacles.
The distance between the center line of the handrail and the edge of the parallel wall or floor opening, the horizontal distance between the center line of the handrail between the two ladders (lane) when set adjacent parallel cross should not be less than 0.50m, otherwise measures should be taken to prevent injuries caused by obstacles.

The inclination angle of the escalator should not exceed 30°, and when the lifting height does not exceed 6m and the rated speed does not exceed 0.50m/s, the inclination angle is allowed to increase to 35°; the inclination angle of the inclined moving walkway should not exceed 12°.
Set flat escalator moving walkway provisions
escalator and the layer between the moving walkway one-way setting, should be arranged near the matching stairs.
The space formed by setting escalators or moving walkways that pass through the upper and lower floors shall conform to the requirements of the relevant fire protection zones and other requirements stipulated in the fire prevention code.
Civil engineering requirements for flat escalator moving walkway
The width of the entrance/exit passage of each escalator or moving walkway must be greater than the width of the escalator or moving walkway, and the net depth of the entrance/exit passage must be greater than 2.5m. When the width of the passage is greater than 2 times the width of the escalator or moving walkway, the net depth of the passage can be reduced to 2m.
The vertical net height over the running of escalators and moving walkways in and out of the channel should be not less than 2.3m.
The entrance and exit channels of escalators or moving walkways must be equipped with protective railings or protective panels, the height of which is ≥1300m and can prevent children from drilling and climbing.
The distance between the center of the handrail and any part of the building structure or escalator shall not be less than 500mm, otherwise, a warning sign conforming to the standard shall be set at the intersection.
When the gap between escalators or moving walkways is greater than 200mm, fall prevention safety facilities should be provided.
If the escalator or moving walkway is connected with the base plate of the building, waterproof must be considered.
The external decoration of the truss of flat escalator moving walkway must be made of non-porous fireproof material, and the maximum weight of decoration per square is 20kg.
